Acupressure Classes with Meret Bainbridge

I have taught  Acupressure for Self-Care to lay people and massage therapists in a variety of settings, including at New Hampshire Institute for Therapeutic Arts at their Bridgton, Maine location, University of Southern Maine’s certificate program in Holistic Health, and at various Adult Education programs in Southern Maine. Most recently I have taught at Saco / Old Orchard Beach Adult Education.

There are currently no scheduled classes.

However, if your group or organization is interested, please contact me to arrange a class. Please see my class descriptions below.

Acupressure for Self-Care

Acupressure – finger pressure on acupuncture points – is a simple, yet very effective technique originating in the rich tradition of Asian medicine. It can be used as a safe, non-invasive, easy-to-learn, on-the-go tool for self-care.

My classes are hands-on, as participants learn and practice acupressure points while giving themselves a mini-treatment.

This class lasts 2 to 2 1/2 hours.

Self-Acupressure for Headaches and Neck Pain

Learn to find and treat the most common pressure points for releasing nagging tension in the head and neck area and various types of headaches.

This class lasts 2 to 2 1/2 hours.

Self-Acupressure for Stress and Anxiety

Learn effective pressure points for relaxation, stress relief and insomnia. Acupressure can help calm the busy “monkey mind”, increase mental focus and relaxation, and help you get a good night’s sleep.

This class lasts 2 to 2 1/2 hours.

Jin Shin Do® Neck Release and Centering Release

This class follows the format developed by Jin Shin Do® founder and principal teacher Iona Marsaa Teeguarden, which registered Jin Shin Do® acupressurists are qualified to teach.

This class focuses on releasing shoulder and neck tension, which is so common in our stressful modern world. It is a hands-on class in which participants will learn and practice with a partner.

Participants will learn a simple 5-step protocol of acupressure points in the shoulder and neck region, followed by a 5-step protocol of centering points for relaxation and calming. It can be done lying down or sitting.

Each participant will learn, give and receive a treatment.

It is recommended to come with a partner / friend for future practice – but single participants will be matched.

This class lasts 3 to 3 1/2 hours.
